Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have gone on very different royal tours in the past month. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently returned from Africa, while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently wrapping up their history-making tour of Pakistan. However, as different as the two visits may seem, a similarity does exist between them in terms of a specific choice that both members of the British royal family made. What was it?

Barbados’ premier Crop Over festival is in line for a significant boost in visitor participation. This is being made possible through a major familiarization programme – the Spirit of Barbados Mega Fam 2019 , as officials announced on Friday that few changes were being considered to help make the highly anticipated celebration even more attractive. Under the Spirit of Barbados Mega Fam initiative, 200 travel advisors and travel agents from key US cities have gathered in Barbados for five days to get a first-hand experience of the destination’s offerings including its culinary delights, culture, accommodations, attractions and activities. This, organisers say, would help them to better promote and sell the destination to their existing and p.

After putting up a year-long fight, the Barbados External Creditor Committee emerged from a deadlock with the Mia Mottley Government with “an agreement in principle” similar to that accepted by local creditors, featuring reduced principal and interest indebtedness. In an unexpected twist, the two sides issued a joint statement today, stating that “the agreement in principle includes a reduction of 26.3 per cent in aggregate sum of the original principal amount of the debt obligations and the past due and accrued interest as of October 1, 2019”. It further explained that under the agreement, the external creditors would “exchange certain of Government’s US dollar denominated debt for new bonds issued by Barbados”. This includes Barbados’ 7.8.
If that image at the top of this post which late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel posted to his Twitter and Instagram feeds on Thursday doesn't immediately look familiar to you, count yourself lucky. It means you somehow aren't aware yet of the latest face app to take the internet by storm -- it's called Gradient, and thanks to influencers and other social media mavens helping it along, it's been spreading across peoples' feeds in recent days thanks to its pretty simple conceit: Matching your face to that of your celebrity doppelganger. It's available for both and devices, and it immediately calls to mind -- the app that launched earlier this year and similarly turned into a viral hit thanks to the way it took a photo of you and did a cree.
TOKYO (AP) — Japan's government said Friday it has decided not to join a U.S. coalition to protect commercial vessels in the Middle East but is preparing to send its own force to ensure the safe shipment of oil to Japan. Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said that Japan will keep cooperating closely with Washington even if it won't join the initiative the U.S. says is aimed at protecting commercial tankers from alleged Iranian attacks. "Peace and stability in the Middle East is extremely important for the international society, including Japan," Suga said at a news conference.

The Late Great State Of California. My family moved to California in 1950, part of the post-WWII westward migration. My widowed mother, tired of Boston’s dreary winters, felt the westward pull. My eldest brother, a WWII Navy veteran, had heard good things about San Diego from sailors who had been stationed there during the war. So, California, here we come. I would like to think those were the golden years, at least for us. California was new, bright, warm, and full of promise. The East was old and cold. And San Diego was thriving. Defense and aerospace jobs were plentiful. Land was cheap, homes were cheap. A building boom met the housing needs for optimistic migrants. You could get things done in California. It’s not that California anymore.
