29 May 2020 --- DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences has launched its latest enzyme solution for adjunct liquefaction: AMYLEX 6T. The enzyme enables numerous business gains for breweries and distilleries alike, according to DuPont, including the ability to expand into new segments with locally-sourced raw materials, improve productivity, maximize yield, ensure consistent quality and ultimately increase profitability. 28 May 2020 --- The Brenntag Food & Nutrition business unit in North America, part of the Brenntag Group, has entered a new collaboration with Axiom Foods for the distribution of plant proteins in the US and Canada. Axiom Foods is active in the space of clean label, dietary inclusive ingredients for the food, beverage, nutraceutical and specialty foods industries. The comprehensive ingredient line includes hemp, pea, pumpkin, rice and sacha inchi proteins, oat and rice dairy-replacement powders, and Axiom’s newly launched texturized pea proteins.

27 May 2020 --- Barry Callebaut has signed an agreement to acquire GKC Foods, a producer of chocolate, coatings and fillings, serving consumer chocolate brands in Australia and New Zealand. This strategic acquisition strengthens Barry Callebaut’s direct presence and manufacturing capacity in Australia’s growing industrial chocolate market. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and other closing conditions, and is expected to complete by the end of the year.

27 May 2020 --- Kerry has unveiled a new, “suitable for organic” natural X flavoring modulation technology, designed to be compliant with the extensive, updated EU regulations for organic F&B products set to take effect on January 1, 2021. The new regulation will require flavorings for organic food and beverages to have at least a 95/5 structure – meaning 100 percent natural with at least 95 percent consisting of ingredients derived from named sources.

27 May 2020 --- Coca‑Cola HBC, one of the world’s largest bottling partners of The Coca‑Cola Company and Costa Coffee, has unveiled a new range of Costa Coffee products aimed at home consumption, on-the-go and at-work coffee drinking occasions. Launching first in Bulgaria, Poland and Hungary, the range will soon be available in Greece, Switzerland, Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, Ireland and Northern Ireland, with more to come in 2020.

25 May 2020 --- Israel-headquartered food products manufacturer Strauss Group (formerly Strauss-Elite) has wrapped up Q1 2020, which was marked by pandemic-related headwinds. The company’s income in the quarter was NIS 2.17 billion (US$615 million), reflecting organic growth – excluding foreign currency effects – of approximately 8.1 percent compared to the Group’s income in the corresponding period last year. Exchange rate volatility was noted to have eroded income, particularly in the company’s coffee business, while a sharp increase in hummus sales in the US was reported to boost overall revenue.
