Huawei has finally confirmed the launch dates for the latest Kirin 990 chipset. New Delhi: Home, auto and other loans are set to become cheaper as the government on Friday said the public sector banks will soon be lending at RBI's benchmark-linked rate and get an additional Rs 70,000-crore upfront capital infusion that will boost their lending capacity in the market by Rs 5 lakh crore. Announcing measures to boost the economy, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the banks would also pass on any change in the benchmark monetary policy rate announced by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) immediately. Till now, banks generally lagged in transmitting RBI's reduction in repo rates to borrowers.

New Delhi: Ruling out any immediate review of enhanced surcharge on super rich, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday said the matter will be looked into only in 2022, when the country will celebrate the 75th anniversary of independence. In the 2019-20 Budget, the government increased surcharge from 15 per cent to 25 per cent on taxable income between Rs 2 crore and Rs 5 crore, and from 15 per cent to 37 per cent for income above Rs 5 crore. Following the increase in surcharge, the effective income tax rate for individuals with taxable income of Rs 2-5 crore has gone up to 39 per cent from 35.88 per cent and for those above Rs 5 crore to 42.7 per cent. New Delhi : The government on Friday announced a raft of measures, including rollback of enhanced super-rich tax on foreign and domestic equity investors, exemption of startups from 'angel tax', a package to address distress in the auto sector and upfront infusion of Rs 70,000 crore to public sector banks, in efforts to boost economic growth from a five-year low. A London judge ordered on Friday the confiscation of bitcoin and other digital currencies worth nearly USD 1 million from a prolific computer hacker, in the first case of its kind for Britain’s biggest police force. At Southwark Crown Court, judge Joanna Korner ruled that the state could confiscate 922,978.14 pounds (USD 1.13 million) worth of cryptocurrencies from Grant West, 27. Amazon.com Inc’s Audible was sued by some of the top US publishers for copyright infringement on Friday, aiming to block a planned rollout of a feature called ‘Audible Captions’ that shows the text on screen as a book is narrated. The lawsuit was filed by seven members of the Association of American Publishers (AAP), including HarperCollins Publishers, Penguin Random House, Hachette Book Group, Simon & Schuster, and Macmillan Publishers. “Essentially Audible wants to provide the text as well as the sound of books without the authorization of copyright holders, despite only having the right to sell audiobooks,” AAP said in a statement. Google Photos has been added with a new feature that allows users to search for photos by the text in them. In an official tweet, Google Photos confirmed that optical character recognition (OCR) is now supported for photos which are uploaded. Taking inspiration from origami, Caltech and Harvard University researchers have built a multifunctional soft robot which can change shape in response to heat. Called Rollbot, the untethered soft robot is built using liquid crystal elastomers and 3D-printed soft hinges that are encoded to fold based on the temperature, Caltech's official release notes.
