Star‐shaped: A general strategy leads to the creation of permanently ligated thermoresponsive nanoparticles with tunable dimensions and compositions by utilizing a rationally designed starlike diblock copolymer (PNIPAM) as a nanoreactor. Studies of the nanoparticles, showing two seemingly contradictory observations on both temperature‐dependent optical and catalytic properties, have led to the reconciliation of data. LCST=lower critical solution temperature. Abstract. Thermoresponsive nanoparticles (NPs) represent an important hybrid material comprising functional NPs with temperature‐sensitive polymer ligands. Strikingly, significant discrepancies in optical and catalytic properties of thermoresponsive noble‐metal NPs have been reported, an.

Lehigh University engineers have utilized a single enzyme biomineralization process to create a catalyst that uses the energy of captured sunlight to split water molecules to produce hydrogen. The synthesis process is performed at room temperature and under ambient pressure, overcoming the sustainability and scalability challenges of previously reported methods. Solar-driven water splitting is a […]

Currently, green nanotechnology-based approaches using waste materials from food have been accepted as an environmentally friendly and cost-effective approach with various biomedical applications. In the current study, AgNPs were synthesized using the outer peel extract of the fruit Ananas comosus (AC), which is a food waste material. Characterization was done using UV–visible spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) analyses. The formation of AgNPs has confirmed through UV–visible spectroscopy (at 485 nm) by the change of color owing to surface Plasmon resonance. Based on the XRD pattern, the crystalline proper.

UK innovation center CPI is contributing its facilities to an EU project focused on researching lightweight embedded electronics. The LEE-BED project will reportedly run for four years with a consortium funding value of over €10 million. It aims to boost the development and manufacture of nanomaterials, inks, adhesives, composites and lightweight embedded electronics for European industry. ‘The LEE-BED innovation test bed will have a huge impact on businesses across the nanomaterials, formulation and embedded electronics industries in Europe,’ said John Cocker, director of electronics at CPI, said. ‘The benefits of the cost-effective and accelerated development of sensors and electronic components will have a number of applications in the I.
