"We have been working with Aeroflow for 15 years as the primary CPAP provider for our OSA patients," said Jeff Ragan, president and CEO of Regional Health Diagnostics, which operates 12 sleep labs across Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and North and South Carolina.

WASHINGTON – HME industry stakeholders are laying the groundwork to push back against anticipated Medicaid cuts, as states grapple with budgetary pressures brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. In a recent letter, AAHomecare urges Calder Lynch, deputy administrator and director of the Center for Medicaid & CHIP Services, to clarify for state Medicaid directorsthe obligation of states to comply with Medicare’s equal access provision, even during the current public health emergency. The deal is Solara’s fourth acquisition following its investment by in May 2018.

ELYRIA, Ohio – Invacare saw decent sales in the first quarter of 2020, particularly in mobility and seating products, but the company expects a decline in the second quarter due to the coronavirus pandemic. The company saw a constant currency 4% increase in sales for mobility and seating products in the first quarter, which took place largely before the pandemic hit, driven by a 16% increase in power wheelchairs and offset by a decline in sales for manual mobility products. "We were very pleased with the mobility and seating performance in first quarter 2020," said Matthew Monaghan, chairman, president and CEO.

Historically, the certified mastectomy fitter (CMF) and certified orthotics fitter (COF) courses combined online learning with in-person labs, but due to social distancing restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, BOC has revisited its policy. "CMF and COF certificants are very important professionals in the health care communities they serve," said Matthew Gruskin, BOC’s credentialing director, "and we didn’t want COVID-19 safety considerations to create barriers to entering these fields.".

In addition to problems obtaining PPE (97%), survey respondents report significant delays in getting equipment used to treat COVID-19 patients, including hospital beds (59%), CPAP/RADs (53%) and nebulizers (49%). WALTHAM, Mass. – Great Elm Capital Group reports that its DME revenue grew 20.2% year over year in the third quarter of its fiscal year 2020, with growth in all major product categories. The company says new patient set-ups for PAP devices, a key category, grew 19% year over year in the quarter, and total PAP patients hit a new high. "Our DME business has been meaningfully impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic," said Peter Reed, Great Elm’s CEO.
