Seemingly, one of the most controversial things about Tesla cars is its Autopilot feature, a driver-assist feature that helps drivers navigate and pilot their vehicle. Oddly, while news of exciting Autopilot features comes out regularly, general information about exactly what Autopilot is, what the options are, and what it can and cannot do seem to be few and far between.

The world is changing. It always is, but the change is particularly dramatic right now in certain technology sectors. To a normal person's eyes, changes in the auto industry may seem only incremental. Cars are getting a bit more "connected," more people are using 21st century taxis from Uber and Lyft (please don't call this ridesharing), and some people are driving electric cars. Yesterday, Elon announced California customers can now order commercial sizes of solar power in 5 minutes at Tesla.com/bigsolar. Instead of starting the process with a site survey or a roof inspection, Tesla just publishes this sizing guide and assumes the commercial customer knows the size of his or her roof. It isn't about maximizing solar production, it is about simplifying the buying process. It's easy to see the price per watt going down from $2.22 ($1.55 after the 30% federal tax credit) to $1.44 ($1.01 after tax credit)

Most of us want to live in a world without waste. The problem is, it's everywhere. Buy organic food? It's often wrapped in plastic. Produce? Bioplastic bags don't cut the mustard for some foodies (how did cut the mustard become an expression?). Order a pallet to buy in bulk? Guess what — stuff is effectively saran wrapped onto the pallet to keep it from sliding around. Turns out, plastic is useful.

National Drive Electric Week is starting. This annual event has been going on for nearly a decade to raise awareness around electric vehicles (EVs). It's organized by Plug In America, the Sierra Club, and the Electric Auto Association, but the core of the work is in the grassroots around the United States and even now the world.

Tesla is not allowed to sell its cars in some states of the USA. That is, it can't open "dealerships." Sometimes, even service centers are prohibited. That is unfortunate for Tesla and its (prospective) customers. But as many people are aware, all laws have loopholes.
