The Toronto Raptors have been on a tear this season as the defending NBA Champions. They’ve kept the momentum from their historic title run, as they’re second in the Eastern Conference with a 42-15 record. Their historic playoff push last year saw numerous revelations from the team in the north. Sidelined with a broken hand when the season just got started, Stephen Curry will rejoin the Golden State Warriors on Sunday when the Washington Wizards make a trip to the Bay Area. Frontrunner Bernie Sanders will be in the firing line as the other Democratic White House candidates seek to derail his push for the nomination at a crucial debate Tuesday in South Carolina. The possibility of Dion Waiters playing in Los Angeles is revived as the former fourth overall draft pick is reported that he might still play for the Lakers after all. Brian Windhorst of ESPN said in the Hoop Collective podcast that there is a high chance Waiters could crack a spot in the Lakers' roster given that he is also under the Klutch Sports Group that also handles LeBron James.
The Atlanta Hawks are currently near the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a 17-42 record. While the team struggles, there have been bright spots for the Hawks. He’s averaging 30 points a game while dishing out 9.2 assists per contest.
After five straight Finals appearances, the Golden State Warriors are now taking time off as the dominant team in the league. With Steph Curry and Klay Thompson recovering from their injuries, the Warriors are now building for the future before their star duo returns. They’ve focused on ending the season in a strong note while finding ways to improve their team moving forward. They acquired D’Angelo Russell in the offseason and eventually traded for former number 1 overall pick, the athletic forward Andrew Wiggins.
The Boston Bruins continue to lead the pack in the NHL as the Presidents’ Trophy is now within their reach. Not even the worst loss of the season they suffered the last outing could dampen their trust on the team’s personnel as they stuck the same core for the remainder of the season with only minor modifications during Monday’s trade deadline that saw Danton Heinen leave their side for Nick Ritchie of the Anaheim Ducks. They are set to host the Calgary Flames a day after the trade deadline, looking to further secure their seat at the top of the league.
