Two recue helicopters from offshore landed at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary this morning one after the other. The first, the Coastguard helicopter was carrying one walking wounded casualty dressed in an offshore transit suit. The second, Bond1, landed moments later and had a casualty on a stretcher. It is not unusual for a two helicopters to land one after the other at ARI but on this occasion Bond1 landed on the grass and didnt wait for the coastguard to clear the helipad. @fbWidget@. Cumbria County Council has given the green light for a 21st century deep coal mine in Cumbria requiring around £175m of investment. To be known as Woodhouse Colliery, the new underground coking coal mine will be located on a brownfield site near Whitehaven in West Cumbria. Radical designs for surface infrastructure will minimise any potential impact from noise, dust and light. @fbWidget@. The final weld that connects the offshore and nearshore sections of the TurkStream natural gas pipeline project has been completed, marking the finalization of the entire pipeline system in the Black Sea, South Stream Transport B.V., which has been carrying out project activities for the offshore gas pipeline, said in a statement Tuesday. Libya boosted crude production by a third after restarting its biggest field, and its top oil official sees further gains when companies like BP Plc invest and start pumping oil in the politically divided OPEC nation. The Sharara field in southern Libya is currently pumping 260,000 bopd, and the state-run National Oil Corp. is working to raise production, NOC Chairman Mustafa Sanalla told Bloomberg Television in an interview. Sharara resumed pumping oil earlier in March after the end of a three-month occupation by armed groups. “Three weeks ago, production was around 900,000 bpd. Aker BP has successfully completed the Froskelår Main exploration well in licence 869 in the Alvheim area. The well has proved oil and gas. The gross resource estimate is 60-130 mmboe. A part of the discovery may straddle the UK-Norwegian border in the North Sea.
