US-based chipmakers including Intel and Qualcomm have reportedly met with the US Commerce Department due to fears about the ramifications of the Huawei ban on their own revenues. American chip suppliers met with the US Commerce Department in late May and have been quietly lobbying the US government to rethink the parameters of the ban, according to anonymous sources speaking to Reuters . The restriction on trade between Huawei and American companies could adversely affect the sales and revenues of US companies that use Huawei components in their own products. The argument presented by chipmakers is that the alleged security flaws are only present in Huawei's 5G infra.

Security researchers from Dragos have observed the hacking group Xenotime, known for highly effective malware attacks, has expanded its focus and is now probing the US power grid for possible entry points. Xenotime is best known for its distribution of the 'Triton' malware back in 2017 which targeted industrial machinery and IoT devices , causing them to run unsafely, inflict physical damage to equipment and shut down production lines. Dragos has been tracking Xenotime's activity for months and although the group has been known to target the oil and gas sector, the recent expansion into the electricity sector indicates a further investment of time and resources into break.

Barry Collins. 15 Jun, 2019. My nan was particularly keen on comeuppance. If you parked outside her house when she'd "put the bins out" to save a spot for her own car, or if you "played her up", you'd be admonished with the same phrase: "you'll get your comeuppance, you will". Well, now it seems Apple is about to get a dose of nan's favourite punishment. After years of escaping the competition authorities' glare, Apple is reportedly set for a date with EU regulators to justify the massive cut it takes on certain purchases made through iOS apps. For example, if someone downloads the free Spotify app from the App Store and then signs up for a £10-a-month Spotify subscription via that app, Apple keeps £3 of it. Not a £3 one-off commission, but £

Sooraj Shah. Jane McCallion. 14 Jun, 2019. Credits. Shutterstock. Alt Text. Aruba Networks Headquarters. Acquisitions and mergers are always a delicate business. How many of the personnel do you keep on? Will the assets be incorporated wholesale into an existing business unit, be split up amongst many, or form a new division? Will the IP be added into your own existing ranges or become (or remain) a standalone product? Is the brand recognition such that you need to keep it, or can it be dissolved into your own? Veteran companies in the tech industry will have faced these questions numerous times in the past, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is no exception. Over the four years since its birth as a result of splitting HP into two companies (the.

The majority of the 45% increase in applications for the exceptional talent visa is being attributed to a rise in the number of applicants from the US and India across a range of sectors, according to research from Tech Nation . These areas include software development, fintech, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, as well as cloud computing . Figures also show the number of applications for these tech visas has sustained a fifth year-on-year growth against previous figures.

The new software enhancements aim to improve the accuracy and reliability of threat detection while being able to identify trends and root causes too. Cisco's DNA Centre users surface around 8,000 'anomalies' every day, according to the firm, with many of these being superficial errors that do not require immediate attention.
