United Nations, October 22. Export growth declined in India in the third quarter of 2020 relative to the same quarter last year but picked up pace in September, according to a global trade update by the UN. Equity benchmark Sensex dropped over 250 points in early trade on Thursday, tracking losses in index majors Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank and Infosys amid weak cues from global markets. The 30-share BSE index was trading 279.13 points or 0.69 per cent lower at 40,428.18, and the broader NSE Nifty fell 80.05 points or 0.67 per cent to 11,857.60. Bengaluru, October 22. Organisations in India are seeing a significant increase in the cybersecurity challenges they face amid the shift to mass remote working, a new study by Cisco shows. According to the study, 73 per cent of organisations in the country have experienced a 25 per cent or more jump in either cyber threats or alerts since the start of COVID-19. Cisco's 'Future of Secure Remote Work Report' revealed that many Indian organisations were unprepared to make the accelerated transition to a remote workforce at the outset of COVID-19. About two-thirds (65 per cent) of organisations adopted cybersecurity measures during COVID-19 to support remote working. Hong Kong: Hong Kong airline Cathay Pacific Airways said on Wednesday it would cut 8,500 jobs and shut a regional airline as it grapples with the plunge in air travel due to the pandemic. Mumbai, October 21. The country's largest lender SBI on Wednesday announced concession of up to 25 bps on its home loan rates. With this, customers would get an interest concession of 25 bps on a home loan of above Rs 75 lakh if they apply through YONO. The bank is offering a credit score-based concession of up to 20 bps from 10 bps earlier, for a home loan of above Rs 30 lakh to Rs 2 crore across the country. The same concession would also be applicable for home loan customers for a loan amount of up to Rs 3 crore in eight metro cities. — PTI. Festive offer. Equity benchmark Sensex rallied over 400 points and the Nifty topped the 12,000 mark in opening trade on Wednesday tracking strong buying sentiment in index majors HDFC twins, ICICI Bank and Reliance Industries amid positive cues from global markets. The 30-share BSE index was trading 404.42 points or 1 per cent higher at 40,948.79, and the broader NSE Nifty rose 113.55 points or 0.95 per cent to 12,010.35. New Delhi, October 20. In a bid to resurrect Air India privatisation, the government is planning to give flexibility to potential investors to decide on the humongous debt with the national carrier, a top official has said. Debt stands at Rs60,074 cr as of March '19. The potential investors have given feedback that due to the uncertainty created by Covid in the aviation sector the debt should not be fixed at the EoI stage. As per the Air India EoI floated by DIPAM in January, of the airline's total debt of Rs60,074 crore as of March 31, 2019, the buyer would be required to absorb Rs23,286.5 crore, while the rest would be transferred to Air India Assets Holding Ltd, a special purpose vehicle. Mumbai, October 20. Budget carrier SpiceJet on Tuesday announced the launch of 62 new flights, including four international services to Muscat from Delhi and Ahmedabad and back, starting Thursday under the air bubble agreement with Oman. The 58 domestic flights include services on Delhi-Kandla-Delhi sector, Ahmedabad-Goa-Ahmedabad, Goa-Hyderabad-Goa, Mumbai-Guwahati-Mumbai, Ahmedabad-Kolkata-Ahmedabad, Delhi-Durgapur-Delhi,Hyderabad-Mumbai-Hyderabad, Kochi-Kolkatandash;Kochi, Pune-Chennai-Pune, Madurai-Delhi-Madurai and Mangalore-Delhi-Mangalore sectors, SpiceJet said. All these new services will be operated with a mix of its Boeing 737 and Bombardier Q400 aircraft on all these routes, it said.

New Delhi: FMCG major Hindustan Unilever on Tuesday reported an 8.58% increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,974 crore for the quarter ended September 30. Its sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 11,510 crore, up 15.89% compared to Rs 9,931 crore in the corresponding period a year ago, Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) said in a regulatory filing. Beijing, October 19. China's economy, which suffered 6.8% slump in Q1 due to the coronavirus pandemic — the worst in 44 years, bounced back posting 4.9% growth between July and September (Q3) buoyed by the government's sweeping efforts to stimulate demand and consumption. The world's second-largest economy, the first to have been hit by the Covid early this year and the earliest to have recovered, grew faster than the 3.2% growth posted in Q2, data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Monday. In the first three quarters, China's GDP expanded 0.7% year-on-year, returning to growth after the 1.6% contraction in the first half of the year and the 6.8% slump in Q1, the data showed.
