Last week was huge for Realme. It unveiled 3 phones, two TVs, a smartwatch and a pair of headphones and power banks, across a few events in India, China and Europe. Starting off with the phones - the Realme X50 Pro Player Edition. It's mostly a X50 Pro but with better cooling and slightly inferior cameras for the same price. It's on sale in China now. The Realme X3 SuperZoom brings an 8MP 5x periscope camera, a 64MP main camera, a Snapdragon 855+ and a 120Hz fast-refresh IPS LCD and a potent 12/256GB option for €499, when it goes on sale on June 2. The Realme 6s replaces the Realme... 05/31/2020 10:32
The Motorola Nexus 6 came at a strange time. Google had just sold off the Motorola division to Lenovo months earlier and the smartphone world was in a sudden transition to 64-bit processors. Also, flagship prices were on the rise, something Google tried to fight with the affordable Nexus 4 and 5, but this phone was different. With the Nexus 6, Google attempted to create a premium device and in many respects it succeeded. However, the $650 price tag for the 32GB model did not sit right with many Nexus fans and the larger 5.96" display had its detractors as well. This was large even by the... 05/31/2020 07:01
Could it be? A periscope camera on a €500 phone that will be available in Europe, rather than China-exclusive? The Realme X3 SuperZoom makes that a reality and shows that the brand is serious about getting a foothold on the Old Continent. The periscope lens has 122mm focal length, that's 5x magnification compared to the main camera. Speaking of, the 64MP main cam assists in shooting up to 60x hybrid zoom photos. The phone also boasts two 8MP ultrawide cameras, one on the front and one on the back (the main selfie cam is a 32MP shooter). While this phone is all about the camera, it... 05/31/2020 03:33
Most people are looking to buy a phone in the $200-$600 range, shows last week's poll. The lower half of that price range proved the most popular, meaning that $200-$400 is the sweet spot for new devices. This also means that Apple hit the bullseye with the iPhone SE (2020), which is exactly $400 if you can make do with 64GB storage. The upgrade to 128GB costs $50, which pushes things into the next price range, but that's not unexpected for Apple. Still, an Apple A13 chipset at $400 should be a wake-up call to Android makers and probably Qualcomm too - Apple's chipset is in a league of... 05/31/2020
The Bullets Wireless Z are the third pair of wireless earphones from OnePlus. A replacement to the excellent Bullets Wireless 2 from last year, the Bullets Wireless Z are meant to be a more affordable option, while matching the design and features of its predecessor. The Bullets Wireless Z are the cheapest wireless set from OnePlus so far, with the US pricing being half what the Bullets Wireless 2 cost. In India, the Bullets Wireless Z costs a third of the Bullets Wireless 2 and half of the original Bullets Wireless. In fact, the INR1,999 price is the lowest anywhere in the world and... 05/30/2020 20:00
Honor is cooking-up another pair of devices for its "Play" lineup. Heading towards a June 3 announcement, the Honor Play 4 and Honor Play 4 Pro should not be confused with the Play 4T and Play 4T Pro. A different pair of Honor devices, that recently appeared out of the blue and are already official. Honor Play 4 colors. A company manager took to Weibo today to showcase banners for the Honor Play 4 in three colors. Officially, that's about as much as we know about the Honor Play 4 pair at the moment. Unofficially, a recent TENAA listing suggests the regular Honor Play 4 will... 05/30/2020 17:00
India is making major strides towards incentivizing and expanding local production of major manufacturers like Apple and Samsung. The empowered committee of secretaries - the governing body for the country's Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) program met on Friday and decided to remove and alter a few important clauses. This has been done as a deliberate effort to attract more US investment, mainly by making India more attractive as a partner in the so-called "China plus one strategy". Simply put, the changing and constantly-developing economic climate in China has been... 05/30/2020 14:00

The Oppo Reno4 and Reno4 Pro are on their way. We know that much for sure, with a June 5 unveiling event already scheduled. Thanks to some specs leaks and TENAA listings, we also have a pretty good understanding of what kind of specs to expect from both devices. The pair seems to share most of their internals and design. But, so far, most physical glimpses we have received have been of the Reno4 Pro variant. Enter a new, detailed render that showcases the vanilla Reno4 phone. Oppo Reno4 render. Alongside it - a nifty specs comparison table, that clears-up some of the differences... 05/30/2020 09:00
Google's Android 11 roadmap has been hitting all sorts of snags lately. The original Google I/O May 12 to May 14 event was canceled entirely, due to COVID-19. With it, the anticipated Android 11 Beta release morphed into a fourth Developer Preview build of the OS. The then scheduled June 1 Launch Show online event was later postponed to June 3. And in the latest development, that date has now been scrapped, as well, pushing the whole thing back an undetermined amount of time. We are excited to tell you more about Android 11, but now is not the time to celebrate. We are postponing the June... 05/30/2020 07:00
A few days ago, we heard quite a bit of chatter about the Galaxy M01 and M11 coming to India as early as the start of June. Now we have an even more specific date and time for the launch - June 2 at 12PM. The specific time is a bit unexpected, since it seems unlikely for Samsung to hold and actual event for the budget pair. Still, we could be treated to some formal unveiling, even if it is a scheduled promo video. Alternatively, you can expect to see listings go up online. We'll likely be keeping a closer eye on the Galaxy M01 ourselves, since, unlike the M11, its specs sheet is... 05/30/2020 05:00
Vivo's new X50 family is just around the corner and should be officially unveiled on June 1. After a myriad of leaks and official teasers, over the last few weeks, we honestly thought that we had a good idea of what to expect from the upcoming vanilla X50 and the X50 Pro. In a fresh new plot twist, though, we now have an image detailing a third X50 Pro+ model. This one - a proper Snapdragon 865 flagship. vivo X50 lineup specs. A potentially confusing revelation, this new development does explain certain inconsistencies from the last few days. Mainly, the fact that the X50 Pro was... 05/30/2020 01:49
On Friday, Oppo revealed a teaser video that confirms the Reno4 Pro will be announced on Friday, June 5. The Reno4 will also make an appearance, and we've recently seen photos of this phone appear in red and blue "Glow" models. A new set of high-quality renders were published on Weibo with the Reno4 Pro in black and white. The Oppo Reno4 and Reno4 Pro are 5G phones powered by the Snapdragon 765G chipset and have punch-hole selfie cameras with curved-edge displays. One will have dual 32+2MP cameras while the other has a 32MP selfie shooter. Both phones have three triple main... 05/29/2020 22:05
Samsung's Galaxy Note20+ will apparently have a 4,500 mAh battery, but what about the (slightly) smaller Note20? Back in April, word on the streets was 4,000 mAh. Now though, it looks like Samsung has managed to cram a bit more juice into the Note20's cell. After digging through the Chinese 3C's certification database, the enterprising folks at SamMobile have figured out that the model number for the battery that's going to be used in the Chinese version of the Note20 is EB-BN980ABY. Oh, and its capacity is 4,300 mAh. That's marginally better than what was thought before, and in... 05/29/2020 18:53
Verizon is getting ready to add another mid-range Samsung smartphone to its 5G roster, complete with support for its ultrafast mmWave network of course. This will be a reinterpreted Galaxy A71, except, unlike the already announced A71 5G, Big Red's model will be powered by a different chipset and have a different name. It's going to be called Galaxy A71s 5G UW, to fit with what seems to be Verizon's newfound naming scheme (read: tacking "5G UW" to the end of device monikers left and right, where "UW" stands for "UltraWideband" aka mmWave). The Galaxy A71s 5G UW may very well look... 05/29/2020 15:31

Join us Thursday, June 4 at 1:00pm Pacific time for a look at the future of gaming on PlayStation 5: #PS5— PlayStation (@PlayStation) May 29, 2020. The Realme X2 Pro was launched last year, and its successor as the brand's flagship is actually the Realme X50 Pro 5G. However, the company decided to branch out its X family laterally and earlier this week unveiled the Realme X3 SuperZoom with Snapdragon 855+ chipset for the European market. We now have the phone with us and the review is already underway, but while you wait we though we'd share our initial impressions of this unique phone. The X3 SuperZoom is the first Realme device with a periscope telephoto camera - an 8MP sensor behind 122mm lens, which the company marks... 05/29/2020 12:43
Industry insiders report that Apple has asked LG to ramp up production significantly of LCD panels for iPads. Reportedly, the surge in demand for big-screen devices during the pandemic in Asia has asked for an uptick in manufacturing. Initially, Apple lowered its orders to LG and its other suppliers as the company expected a significant drop in sales. But LG is forced to react fast to the changing demand so it doesn't fall behind the competition coming from Japan's Sharp and China's BOE Display. Source. 05/29/2020 11:19
OnePlus 8 Pro's Photochrome mode, which used an IR camera that can see through some plastics and thin clothing, proved controversial, so the company decided to disable it temporarily. Originally, it stated that this will affect only 8 Pro phones in China, but now an international update is rolling out that also disables the feature. Oxygen OS 10.5.9.IN11AA has only one item in its change log, which says that the Photocrhome filter will be "temporarily removed for adjustment". It promises that the feature will be re-enabled some time in June. The Photochrome mode on the OnePlus 8...
