Fight Aging! 08/10/2020 06:11
Chronic inflammation in brain tissue is an important component of the progression of neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease. It is important enough that some researchers propose inflammation resulting from persistent infection and cellular senescence to be the primary mechanism in Alzheimer's disease, and the characteristic accumulation of amyloid-β deposits only a side-effect. Given the failure to achieve meaningful benefits in patients through removal of amyloid-β, researchers are turning their eyes towards ways to suppress inflammatory signaling in the brain. Removal of senescent cells, the source of a great deal of that inflammatory signaling, is one promising avenue, but other efforts focus on interference in specific.

While the exact cause of Alzheimer's remains unknown, researchers are targeting toxic beta-amyloid buildup. A recent study on mice found oxytocin could be a protective agent against plaque buildup. Though more research needs to be conducted, this is a hopeful sign in our fight against a crippling disease. While Americas watch the battle for the most cognitively-fit president unfold on social media and television, the problem pundits are really discussing is dementia.

OBJECTIVES: The prevalence of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1D) in children is growing, but its relation to other autoimmune disorders that coexists since the onset of diabetes is not recognized. The objective of this study was to assess the incidence of T1D and the prevalence of autoimmune illnesses additionally coexisting since the diabetes mellitus onset in children during period of 9 years observation. METHODS: In this retrospective study the incidence rate of the TD1 was calculated as the total number of all cases that were newly diagnosed per 100 000 population people between 0-18 years of age. The selected age groups (0-4, 5-9, 10-14, 15-18 years) were examined respectively. The studied group included 493 children (264, [53.55%] boys),

As a person’s weight goes up, all regions of the brain go down in activity and blood flow, according to a new brain imaging study in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease. One of the largest studies linking obesity with brain dysfunction, scientists analyzed over 35,000 functional neuroimaging scans using single-photon emission computerized tomography from more than 17,000 individuals to measure blood flow and brain activity.
