Good news for Chicago Cubs fans! It looks like David Ross is going to be your new skipper. While this isn't official, sources close to the team are beginning to leak more information about the Ross's managerial takeover of the Cubs. David Kaplan broke the news on Twitter this morning. Ross received a second interview last night after the Cubs spoke to Joe Espada a second time.
Stocks traded in a narrow range around the flat line Wednesday as investors attempted to digest mixed earnings results for the third quarter. The New York Federal Reserve Bank is jacking up the amount of cash it injects into the US financial plumbing on a nightly basis, officials said Wednesday. Since last month, the Federal Reserve has scrambled to prevent a liquidity shortage from causing short-term interest rates to spike beyond its control. Beginning Thursday and extending to mid-November, the New York Fed will offer at least $120 billion a day in so-called overnight repurchase operations -- exchanging secure assets for cash -- up from the prior $75 billion maximum, the bank said in a statement.
A lawmaker from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's party took a lie detector test on Wednesday after the president called for a group of MPs to be tested over corruption allegations. Oleksandr Dubinsky, from Zelensky's Servant of the People party, streamed the test live on the internet. Earlier, Davyd Arakhamia, leader of the parliamentary faction of the president's party, had told reporters "we will go on a lie detector".

Nissan (NSANY) has unveiled its crossover electric concept vehicle with the launch of the Ariya at the Tokyo Motor Show. Skincare company Sunday Riley has officially settled its case with the Federal Trade Commission after it found to have posted fake positive reviews on Sephora’s website in an effort to boost sales. While not admitting to any wrongdoing, the company agreed to cease posting the fabricated reviews and will receive no further punishment for its action.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying slammed the U.S. on Wednesday after a top Chinese space program official was unable to obtain a U.S. visa to participate in the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) event in Washington, D.C. Hua has alleged that the U.S. has "weaponized" the issuance of visas for Chinese citizens.
Police in Iowa are asking for help in finding a father of 11 who has been missing since Sunday. Jay Dee Wynkoop, 38, was reported missing after leaving his home in the early afternoon in Webster City, Iowa, to run errands. Surveillance video showed him pulling up to a truck stop, Doc's Stop, in Webster City but he was not seen entering the store or surrounding businesses.
Israel's president Reuven Rivlin tasked ex-military chief Benny Gantz on Wednesday with forming a new governing coalition and bringing Israel out of the longest political impasse in its history. Gantz is the first politician other than Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to receive such a mandate since 2009. Following deadlocked elections on September 17, Netanyahu had tried to form a coalition, but finally gave up on Monday -- his second such failure this year.

Hoping to succeed where earlier Arab Spring revolutions have struggled, Sudan's new government is seeking support to build a youth-focused economy through fundamental reforms and a new safety net, its finance minister says.
