(DPS) — On Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, at about 7:35 a.m., the Department of Public Safety received a call reporting two unresponsive individuals at a Korean restaurant that produces rice cakes located in San Antonio. Police were dispatched to the scene. Police arrived on scene and confirmed the report. At the scene, police noticed two unresponsive females inside the restaurant. DPS crime scene technicians were dispatched to the scene. DPS has classified this case as a homicide. This case remains ongoing and is pending further investigation. WASHINGTON, D.C. (Office of the CNMI Congressional Delegate) — The U.S. House of Representatives passed the 2020 Defense authorization Wednesday. U.S. Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan says the bill has several provisions of specific benefit to the Northern Mariana Islands, including funding for the Tinian divert airfield, help for insular area small businesses, and paid parental leave for federal employees. The NDAA, or National Defense Authorization Act, also raises military pay by 3.1 percent.
