[India], Jan 16 (ANI): The Special Court of CBI here on Wednesday agreed to pronounce the quantum of punishment to Gurmeet Ram Rahim, convicted in the murder of journalist Ramchander Chhatrapati along with three others, through video conference on Thursday. Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim will be produced in the court through video conference from Sunaria jail in Rohtak, where he is currently serving 20-year prison term since 2017 for raping two of his women followers. Three other accused, who were also convicted in the journalist's murder case, will be produced in the court from Ambala jail through video conference. The decision comes after Haryana government on Tuesday filed an application in the CBI Special Court her.

[India], Jan 16 (ANI): As many as 15 Indians stranded in Iraq after being duped by an agent on the pretext of employment have requested External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to help them return to India. In a video, the men revealed that they were duped by an agent off around Rs 2 lakh each, who sent them to Iraq on the pretext of getting them a work permit in the country. [India], Jan 16 (ANI): Death toll reached two in Goa's cement factory blast, which took place on January 13, after one more injured worker succumbed to his injuries on late Tuesday night. The deceased identified as Ashok Naik along with other workers sustained injuries in the boiler blast in a cement factory located in north Goa's Tuem Industrial Estate, police said. In a telephonic conversation with ANI, Police Inspector Sandesh Chodankar said: "Another victim of boiler blast, Akhil Naik, who was seriously injured, died late on Tuesday night.".

[India], Jan 16 (ANI): Directorate of Revenue Intelligence's Chennai zonal unit raided multiple locations here in early hours of Tuesday and seized 20.6 kilogram gold of foreign origin valued at an estimate of Rs 6.88 crore. Four people including the kingpin, his aide cum relative and two carriers have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. DRI officials also seized a BMW car and Rs 21 lakh under the Customs Act, 1962 from the arrested persons. Interrogation of the apprehended persons revealed that the Chennai-based kingpin who is a resident of Choolaimedu, used to allegedly operate in the domestic sector of various airports.

He was sent to judicial custody after being produced at Kalyan Court.
