홍준표 자유한국당 전 대표가 조국 법무부 장관 후보자를 둘러싼 논란을 두고 “국민들이 분노해야 할 곳은 조국 사건에 대한 일회성 분노가 아닌 한국 사회 전반의 제도개혁 요구를 위한 분노여야 한다”고 언급했다. 홍 전 대표는 22일 페이스북을 통해 “조국 딸이 시험 한번 안 보고 외고, 고대, 부산대 의전원을 간 것에 분노하는 민심을 보면서 한편으로는 한국 사회를 이렇게 만든 정치인들에게는 분노하지 않는 민심에 놀랐다”고 밝혔다. 홍 전 대표는 “한국 사회의 기득권층, 특권층 자제들의 신분 세습 수단을 어디 조국 딸만 이용했겠는가. 잘못된 제도를 이용하여 병역회피를 하는 사람이 어디 조국 아들만 있겠는가”라고 비판했다. 이어 “정유라에 대한 분노가 조국 딸에 대한 분노로 번지는 것을 보며 좌불안석인 여야 정치인과 한국 사회의 지도자들도 참 많을 거다”라며 “국민들이 분노해야 할 곳은 조국 사건에 대한 일회성 분노가 아닌 변칙 입학, 변칙 출세로 변칙 사회를 만드는 한국 사회 전반의 제도개혁 요구에 대한 분노이고 혁신이어야 한다”고 덧붙였다. 강태현 인턴기자.
