Samsung's Galaxy Note series was all about rebellion. When it launched way back in 2011, it felt gigantic, much bigger than all the phones out there. Steve Jobs laughed it off saying it was too big (boy was he wrong!). It was courageous and not in a way of removing a headphone jack: it was vastly different from everything else out there. For years, it was also a symbol of the absolute best in a phone: the most powerful chips, the best cameras, the functionality of the S Pen, the options of expandable storage and a headphone jack, it had it all. It was a poster child for Samsung's success. Yet ...

If you have been clamoring for a dedicated Night Mode on the camera of your T-Mobile Galaxy S10 and S10+, the new camera feature is finally arriving. The updates were first applied together with the May/June security patches, and we are past mid-August now, but better late than never. T-Mobile is last of the big four US carriers, after AT&T, Verizon and even Sprint got the June security update with the new Night Mode function, as well as the QR Code scanner for Wi-Fi sharing. Look for an over the air firmware update request on your T-Mobile Galaxy S10e, S10 ...

Over the course of two decades, Supreme has evolved from a small skate shop in New York, to a billion dollar streetwear juggernaut. But perhaps even more significant, it has become the core of an entire (and very profitable, at that) sub-culture that revolves around the brand's immediately recognizable white-on-red logo. Supreme is no stranger to outlandish offerings and collaborations, some of which include a $30 brick, incense sticks, and a bible stash box for your... stuff. The latest entry in its list of branded items, and one that surprisingly has something to do with our ...

Google has shut down a service that was aimed at helping carriers around the world improve their coverage, by providing them with aggregated data from Android devices. The closure comes at a time of heightened concerns about data privacy across the industry. Google’s Mobile Network Insights service was launched in 2017 as a free tool for wireless providers around the world that allowed them to see weak spots in their network coverage. According to a new report by Reuters, the service was "essentially a map showing carriers signal strengths and connection speeds they were delivering ...

Both Galaxy Note 10 and 10+ are set to hit the shelves on August 23, but before that happens, Samsung is updating the flagships with a handful of enhancements that should further improve some of the phones' component. The update spotted by SamMobile is now making its way to some European markets and India. We did not receive it yet, but we should get it as well by the time the Galaxy Note 10 and 10+ make their retail debut. As far as the changes go, firmware version N97*FXXU1ASH5 improves quite a lot of things, including the fingerprint sensor, performance of touchscreen, the stability ...

While 5G networks in the US are in their nascence, and spots where you can catch such signal are few and far between a few gateway cities, the nation of South Korea has made nationwide coverage a priority, and more than a million people are now equipped with 5G handsets from Samsung or LG. Verizon scored the bragging rights of initiating the first 5G data connection on a retail phone a day before the three major carriers in South Korea were scheduled to flip the switch (an accident, we know).

Great news for owners of the original Razer Phone, as the company behind the gaming smartphone, is now rolling out the promised Android 9.0 Pie update. It's been about a month since Razer confirmed that its first-ever smartphone will be updated to Android 9.0 Pie and while it didn't offer an exact timeframe, it did say that the update is coming “soon.” Well, it looks like that time has come, at least according to some Razer Phone owners who successfully captured the update. AndroidPolice reports the update weighs about 1GB and, as seen in the screenshot attached, includes a handful of other ...

All three Samsung Galaxy S10 phones are now on sale on Amazon, so if you're more into the Galaxy S flagships rather than the Note lineup, you might find these deals quite decent. The best things about the offers are that they don't involve any long-term agreements and they come with US warranty. The cheapest of the three is the Galaxy S10e, which is getting a 24% $180) discount, but make sure to select the 128GB model since the 256GB variant is just $100 cheaper. The next in line is the Samsung Galaxy S10, which is 19% ($215) off. We're talking about the 512GB version, but you can't ...

For a second time, President Trump sat down with Apple's CEO Tim Cook, and talked tariffs over dinner on Friday. Unlike a lot of other Silicon Valley entities, Mr Cook has taken the path of least confrontation with the administration over its budding philosophical conflict with China over tariffs, intellectual property rights and the like, as it stands to lose a lot if things go awry. That is why, on the cusp of escalation, Tim Cook organized a sit-down with Trump to give him another valid reason for backing down on tariffs apart from the fact that they will ruin Christmas. We ...

Friends remains one of the most popular television series viewed on streaming video. The show is so popular that Netflix is reportedly paying $100 million to keep the sitcom for one last year before it moves to HBO Max next January. But the Google Play Store is giving you a great opportunity (via Android Police) to purchase all ten seasons of the show at a ridiculously low price. Usually, the entire series will cost you $139.99. With this deal, all 236 episodes can be yours in HD for just $59.99; that is an $80 or 57% discount from the usual price in the Play Store. ...

The U.S. Commerce Department is reportedly ready to give Huawei's U.S. suppliers another 90-day special license. The first 90-day license expires on Monday and allowed the Chinese manufacturer to obtain parts and software from the U.S. so that it could service existing customers and update already released phones. But even while this is supposedly going on under the auspices of Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, Reuters reported on Sunday that U.S. President Donald Trump had some not so kind words for Huawei. Trump said just before boarding Air Force One in New Jersey, ...

We know that Apple is giving away special iPhones to certain security researchers who are looking for a big payday that could add up to as much as $1.5 million. The big jackpot will go to the researcher who finds a flaw in the iPhone and iOS that will allow a hacker to take full control over an iPhone without the phone's owner having to touch any part of the device. That discovery is good enough for $1 million dollars. Any vulnerability found on beta software will reward the researcher with a 50% bonus. That's because the discovery is taking place before the software has been disseminated ...

Starting this weekend, T-Mobile customers can buy the LG Stylo 5, a new Android smartphone that was first launched in the US at the end of June. Also released by T-Mobile's prepaid brand Metro a few weeks back, the Stylo 5 is a mid-range handset with a feature that's unique for its price range: a stylus pen that enables users to swiftly jot down notes, sketch, and draw on the phone's large screen. While the LG Stylo 5 costs $239.99 at Metro, T-Mobile is asking a bit more for it: $275, or $11 per month for 24 months. Despite this price hike, there are no differences between the Stylo 5 that ...

The Moto Z3 Play, released last year, has all the makings of a fine budget phone. Updated to Android 9 Pie, the device is equipped with a 6-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1080 x 2160 FHD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 636 chipset is under the hood along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. A dual camera setup is on the back (12MP primary + 5MP depth sensor) and there is a front-facing 8MP selfie snapper. Keeping the lights on is a 3000mAh battery and the phone is nanocoated for protection from splashes and light rain. The only thing ...

Ten lucky winners will each receive the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 bringing the dollar value of the grand prize to $9,499.90. Every so often, we pass along a horror story about some malicious apps found in the Google Play Store. These "bad actors" try to get Android users to install their seemingly benign apps, but once they are downloaded on a phone, the problems begin. Some will play ads in the foreground or background, send texts over premium (read 'paid') messaging apps and find other ways to produce money for the hackers while destroying the user's phone from the inside out. And to make matters worse, many of these apps are invisible to users without an icon to be found making it extremely hard to uninstall ...

Motorola sells quite a few decent mid-range smartphones in the US, which is probably the main reason why its parent company can be considered successful in the mobile industry all of a sudden, but if we were to pick just one 2019-released Moto handset to recommend to professional bargain hunters nowadays, we'd most likely go with the G7 Power. Reasonably priced right off the bat, the battery life champion has been discounted countless times in recent months, both in an unlocked variant and with payment plans on several carriers.

Days after Huawei was placed on the U.S. Commerce Department's Entity List preventing the company from accessing its U.S. based supply chain, the Trump administration gave the Chinese manufacturer a 90-day reprieve. During the period, U.S. companies were allowed to ship to Huawei parts and software "necessary to maintain and support existing and currently fully operational networks and equipment, including software updates and patches." With that 90-day period set to expire this Monday, unnamed sources told Reuters that the U.S. will extend the "temporary general license" for another 90-day ...
